CLIMATE CHANGE EFFECTS ON BANGLADESH

The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen started on December 7th 2009. As the climate change negotiations are still going on, the Global Climate Risk Index (CRI) 2010 was published yesterday. According to these statistics, Bangladesh tops the list for the countries most in risk due to climate change effects.

The 4th China Beijing International Cultural Creative Industry Expo at China International Exhibition Center
The 4th China Beijing international cultural and creative industrial annual expo inaugurated at China International Exhibition Center, Beijing on November 26. More than 300 foreign guests from 30 countries attended the opening ceremony and watched the theatrical show. Sixth Annual Peking University International Cultural Festival dazzles with diversity
The closing ceremony for the 6th annual Peking University International Cultural Festival (PKU ICF) was successfully held on Sunday 25th October. The festival lasted nearly 1 month from September 17 to October 25, with a series of various activities including the PKU International Students Singing Competition, the PKU International Students Speech Competition, amongst others. The main attraction on the last day of the festival was undoubtedly the booth exhibition of countries from all over the world and the highly entertaining stage performances delivered by the foreign students of PKU.

Eid Celebrations in China-2009
Only hearing the word “Eid” makes our heart swing. When we ourselves begin to lose our self in the nothingness of this busy world, when our soul implores a space for itself, then the advent of eid is just like rain after a chronic drought.
Holy Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated all across China on Monday (21-9-2009). On this occasion the Bangladesh Embassy in China held an eid party where all Bangladeshis in china were invited. Following the eid prayers all Bangladeshis, wearing traditional outfits, headed towards the embassy. The whole embassy was full of the joys of spring as Eid has the panacean power of freeing our heart and soul from the shackle of ennui.
