Premier Sheikh Hasina's visit to China

sheikh-hasina.jpgBangladeshi premier, Sheikh Hasina, along with several ministers, distinguished citizens of the country and a business delegation, returned home on Sunday 21st March 2010 after a five-day state visit to China. This was Hasina's first official visit to China since she started her regime last January. A welcome ceremony was held at the Great Hall by the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao for the state guests.   "We consider the tour very important in over all consideration.....we have thousand years of tie with China as with India," Foreign Minister Dipu Moni said in a pre-visit press conference. The two countries signed three accords and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to improve cooperation in the fields of economy and technology, infrastructure and energy. Bilateral, regional and international issues were discussed during her meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao.
 
During the visit in Beijing, Bangladeshi premier visited Olympic Games Stadium "Bird's Nest" on 19th March, 2010.

Kunming, capital of southwestern China's Yunnan Province, was also part of the Bangladeshi premier’s five-day state visit in China.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Beijing on Wednesday 17th March 2010. Chinese Asst Foreign Minister for South Asia Hu Zagngyue received the Prime Minister at Beijing Airport.
