PKU International Cultural Festival 2009 |
Sixth Annual Peking University International Cultural Festival dazzles with diversity
The closing ceremony for the 6th annual Peking University International Cultural Festival (PKU ICF) was successfully held on Sunday 25th October. The festival lasted nearly 1 month from September 17 to October 25, with a series of various activities including the PKU International Students Singing Competition, the PKU International Students Speech Competition, amongst others. The main attraction on the last day of the festival was undoubtedly the booth exhibition of countries from all over the world and the highly entertaining stage performances delivered by the foreign students of PKU.
Bangladesh was proudly represented by
Bangladeshi students in Beijing, all of whom helped towards making the
festival a day to remember. The colorful booth was oozing with
Bangladeshi culture, which together with the various posters,
decorations and handicraft present attracted many people. Visitors
could not help but admire the beauty of Bangladesh through the
pictures, asking many questions about Bangladeshi food, culture,
language, and especially about the meaning of the model made of the
National Martyrs Memorial. The latter was one of the main attractions
of the booth and visitors were most eager to take photographs with it,
together with the Bangladeshis wearing the traditional country’s
outfit. Bangladeshi students also delivered a very lively song
performance on stage. All in all, the festival was once again a huge
success and without any doubt, a very memorable one.
