There are several sections (Badaling, Mutianyu, Jiankou, Gubeikou, Huanghuacheng, Jinshanling and Simatai) where you can experience the beauty of the Great Wall. Badaling is the most visited one among all of them.
If you don’t want to take a tour bus or hire a car instead you would like to take a public bus to visit Badaling Great Wall here is the way.
Bus numbers to get to the Badaling Great Wall are 877, 919. You can take the bus at Deshengmen station, just behind Deshengmen arrow tower (looks like an ancient building).
To get to Deshengmen bus station, take subway line 2 and stop at Ji Shui Tan station. Take Exit A to leave the subway station. Walk to the east for about 10 minutes, once you see the Deshengmen Arrow Tower (an ancient building), cross the street and you will find the bus station at the north side of the tower.
It takes around 90 minutes to reach Badaling Great Wall depending on the traffic.

877 bus operates from 6:00-12:00
919 bus operates from 6:00-21:00
Fair:
It costs 12 Yuan if you pay in cash and 4.8 Yuan if you pay by the IC card.
Keep in mind:
1. On the way to the bus station some illegal car/bus drivers will try to convince you to take their bus/car. Do not listen to them and walk straight to the bus station.
2. Before getting on to the bus, ask the driver if the bus goes to Badaling particularly if you take 919.
